Social Engagement

We all like having friends, and feeling important, and social skills are key to this. Social engagement under the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) focuses on helping participants connect with their communities and build meaningful relationships. This support is essential for improving mental health, fostering a sense of belonging, and enhancing overall well-being.

Key aspects of social engagement support include:

  1. Community Participation: Assistance with joining social groups, clubs, and community activities to meet new people and stay active.

  2. Skill Development: Programs to build social skills, confidence, and independence, enabling participants to engage more fully in social settings.

  3. Recreational Activities: Support to participate in hobbies, sports, and leisure activities that promote physical and mental health

  4. Transportation: Help with getting to and from social events, ensuring participants can attend activities and stay connected

These supports are tailored to each individual's needs and goals, helping them to live more fulfilling and socially connected lives.

Engaged Support Services also offers participant the opportunity to be involved in a participant led Social Club, which has already seen multiple participants achieve things like competing in and completing the Burnie 10 Marathon, Attending the Tulip Festival as a group, 10-Pin Bowling and much more.
